Over the course of a month, I painted clouds directly from life, working in quick strokes to keep pace with the sky’s constant change. Each of the 9 selected 5”x5” panel is the result of daily practice. This act of repetition turned observation into devotion. By translating something vast and ever-shifting into an intimate scale, these works explore the process of painting. They are about the discipline of returning again and again, until the subject is known not only with the eye, but with the whole self.
